Alain Berrebi, Executive Director
Alain Berrebi was named Executive Director of www.aids.org in October 2005 and will be leading the organization’s plans for growth into the leading online provider of AIDS and HIV education and prevention beginning with a site redesign. Alain Berrebi's career has excelled in many environments. He managed the nationwide events and trainings that helped increase brand awareness for American Legacy Foundation’s Truth Campaign, aimed at reducing youth tobacco use. At the Center for Special Immunology in his positions as National Director of New Business Development and Director of Community Relations he was in charge of patient recruitment for pharmaceutical clinical trials, including the testing of AIDS therapies. As the volunteer Founding Chairman of White Party Weeksm Alain created and executed the largest annual fundraising event for Care Resource, the South Florida AIDS services organization.
Peter Dobson, Director
Peter Dobson has been a computer professional since 1979 and has worked with the Internet and network systems since 1984. He has vast experience in programming and operation of many kinds of computer systems, and management of software development projects. Peter is a member of the Association of Internet Professionals (AIP). As one of the original, founders of AIDS.ORG, Peter has spearheaded it's many important programs.
Edward C. Green, Ph.D., Director
Dr. Ted Green is a world renowned expert on AIDS in Africa, and a member of the President's Advisory Council for HIV/AIDS, as well as the Research Advisory Council, Office of AIDS, National Institute of AIDS. He is a medical anthropologist, and Senior Research Scientist in the School of Public Health, Center for Population and Development Studies, Harvard University. His work in developing countries has spanned Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia. He is also the author several books as well as more than 300 journal articles, book chapters, presented papers, and commissioned reports. Dr. Green is currently lead researcher on the role of behavioral change in HIV/AIDS epidemics in Africa and southeast Asia, under a US government-funded research project. He has recently testified in both houses of congress on AIDS issues.
John S. James, Director
In 1986, John S. James began publishing AIDS Treatment News as part of the grassroots response to the AIDS epidemic. When institutional responses were painfully lagging, John James dug in the trenches and started the work that needed to be done – finding out what was out there that could help save people's lives, and commenting on the public policy issues that needed to change in order to deliver life-saving therapies to people with AIDS, ARC and HIV disease. Physicians, counselors, and clinicians are among the many professionals who regularly turn to AIDS Treatment News for accurate, timely reporting.
Mark F. Johnson, Director
Mark F. Johnson is a successful businessman and founder as well as a major donor to AIDS.ORG.
He founded MFJ International in 1985. MFJ International produced network software to manage customer contacts and relationships. The software is used by hundreds of major corporations, and has consistently won excellence awards. Mark sold his interest in the company and moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1998. The company has since changed it's name to Relavis.
He is working on various charitable projects in addition to owning a resort hotel just outside the Rio de Janeiro.
