AIDS Treatment News Subscription Change
We are currently sending out over 25 back issues with every new subscription. The result is that every $8.subscription--the reduced rate for persons with AIDS or ARC--is costing us several dollars more in direct printing and postage costs than the $8. we receive. More than half of our subscriptions are at the reduced rate, and we cannot bear this cost indefinitely.
In the future we will send out several back issues--not 25 of them--with each new subscription at no extra charge. We
will charge separately for the complete set of 40 back issues-- with a reduced rate ($12.50) for persons with AIDS or ARC. Those who have ordered this complete set in the past should be receiving it shortly.
This change reflects our pricing policy: that the reduced rate should cover the actual printing, postage, and handling
cost of sending the material, while the regular rate also pays for overhead. This policy keeps AIDS Treatment News
independent of external funding, and also allows us to expand as necessary to keep up with any increase in subscriptions.
Incidentally, AIDS Treatment News has about two thousand subscribers at this time--in addition to online users.
