Treatment Issues On Dextran Sulfate, Imuthiol/Antabuse, and "German Enzymes"

We continue to recommend Treatment Issues, a newsletter published by the Gay Men's Health Crisis and edited by Barry Gingell, M.D. The current issue (volume 2 number 2) includes a short update on dextran sulfate, and a long article on Imuthiol (DTC) and Antabuse.
The article "German Enzyme Therapy" may be particularly interesting. This treatment, used in Germany for several
diseases including AIDS, is believed to reduce excessive levels of circulating immune complexes, which may cause much of the damage in certain autoimmune conditions. Comparable preparations are available in the United States as health supplements. For more information, see the article in Treatment Issues.
