NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON AIDS AND MINORITIES SLATED FOR AUGUST
Washington, D. C. will be the site of a conference from August 13-17 to discuss the impact of HIV and AIDS on minority communities in the U. S. and to develop a plan to empower these communities with information that can save lives. The conference is sponsored by fourteen different agencies of the U. S. Public Health Service, including the Centers for Disease Control, Office of the Surgeon General, the Indian Health Service, and the Office for Civil Rights. There is no registration fee, although to avoid overcrowding the conference is limited to 3,000 participants. AIDS TREATMENT NEWS will attend the conference and participate in panel discussions of treatment access for minority communities.
