SCIENCE Publishes Major AIDS Issue June 28; Full Text on Web
The journal SCIENCE will publish a major AIDS issue on June 28, and will release the full text that day on its Web site, http://www.sciencemag.org. This issue includes six journalistic articles, two research reports, three scientists' viewpoints (on vaccines, drug treatments, and chemokines and receptors), and an editorial. Two thousand copies will be distributed at the Vancouver conference.Of particular note is a new picture of HIV, drawn by a leading medical illustrator based on the best current information from top scientists throughout the world.
The reporting includes a view of AIDS research based on information used by the investment community, and a table looking at the most-cited scientists among those who have published frequently.
Note to Readers: This issue of AIDS TREATMENT NEWS went to press a week early, on June 26, so that we can print copies to take to the Vancouver AIDS conference. We did not review the SCIENCE coverage, but talked to their AIDS reporter Jon Cohen.
