Opportunistic Infections: Major Report Available
A 134-page report on the current state of diagnosis,treatment, prophylaxis, and research on more than a dozen of the most common opportunistic infections was released January1997 by the Treatment Action Group (TAG). It is edited by Michael Marco and Mark Harrington of TAG, with an introduction by William G. Powderly, M.D., principal investigator of the AIDS Clinical Trials Unit at WashingtonUniversity Medical School in St. Louis. Both approved and experimental treatments are covered.The opportunistic infections addressed are:
