AIDS Treatment News Future Directions

Many free publications and meetings for medical professionals and/or for patients are funded by an "unrestricted educational grant" from one or more pharmaceutical companies; these grants operate under FDA regulations designed to keep the sponsors from biasing the material. So far AIDS Treatment News has not produced such publications, because of our concern about remaining independent of industry.

We are now considering contributing material already published in this newsletter to a patient-education project funded by such an arrangement. We would maintain complete editorial control, and would not be working for a pharmaceutical company but for an organization funded by several companies. We would receive a small payment and, most importantly, reach thousands of people who otherwise would not know about AIDS Treatment News.
